DIY Wedding Desserts; Salt Lake City

Sometimes having an elaborate wedding cake just isn’t a good fit for someone’s wedding. Luckily, there are so many other options! Check out the photos below for some ideas that you can make at home before your big event.

1. Make your favorite cupcakes! I especially like when cupcakes are just bite-sized so guests can enjoy more than one dessert.

2.  For an outdoor wedding, consider providing the fixings for s’mores. The sticky and sweet treat is a fun way to end an evening sitting around a campfire talking.

3. A great option for a summer wedding, especially one near the July 4th holiday is a berry trifle. They are super easy to make and are so color full! I made this with angel food cake, strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream. You could also make a few varieties featuring more fruit options or even mix in a little bit of chocolate.

4. Another option is to order specialty candies. You can display them and let guest pick their favorites. Or you can package them as a treat gusts can take home at the end of the night. This was the direction we took at my wedding. We featured several candy dishes and it was especially popular with the children in attendance.
